The watches that we wish we still had

I thought it would be neat to post pics of the watches that we have gotten rid of over the years. I have posted a few of mine.

Not an expensive watch, but I wish I still had my Swatch that I had back in the early 80's. I have looked for one like it and can't locate one. It was called blackout. Everything was black. Very unique.

Sad distant memories--although replaced with less expensive ones and fewer of them at that-Thanks!

You owned a DD PT ? Wow, that watch is my all time favorite.
I just ordered a DD YG for my 45th birthday, yeah am a '65'er too, but that PT will have to make it on my wrist someday.

I did---Sold it a while ago--bought it from GeneralWar-aka Jon Todd. One of my favorites--definitely top 4 with the JLC RG Master Tourbillon, AP RG Rubber clad and the Vacheron Bi-Retro Patrimony.

1997 Breitling Colt SuperOcean automatic, stainless steel with PRO I SS bracelet. I had this for over 10 years. I late 2007, one of the links in the bracelet gave out. I could find neither another link, nor a new bracelet. The new PRO II bracelet would not fit, so I ended up getting a rubber strap. I eventually traded the watch at my AD for a newer Breitling. I should have got a nice leather strap and kept it. That was the only watch I wore over the 10 years, never even had it serviced. I washed it every week with soap and lukewarm water, and in spite of all the scratches it still sparkled:

This is not my watch, but exactly this model and vintage. Even the scratches and wear look the same. There is nothing like a watch that has been loved, and yet has visible signs of wear on it.

After two years, and many watches, I finally got the one that will truly replace it: Explorer I.

Cheers,
Carl
