I don't suppose anyone here can answer that question truthfully, you would need sales figures etc. Last night I tried on the new TT GMT and was blown away by it. If I was getting another TT Rolex, that would be the one I'd buy.

Retail list pricing :
TT Blue Sub 16623 $7825
TT Blue YM 16628 $8675

Price wise the YM must be more 'sought after'.If I have to take out the $$s on new,the Blue TT Sub wins ... I am wearing one as I am typing this ...
If I had to go for a TT YM,I would personally go for the one with the gold dial, not the blue.
All,said both are 'eye catchers'.I like the Rollies with a bit of 'colour and sparkle'.
It comes down to personal choice ....
As for resale value,I guess the same % drop can be expected, but perhaps someone with more wisdom can enlighten us ..... That said, can one expect the same discount ,when buying new from an AD, on the Sub and the YM ??

Hi rjw,

I've had the pleasure of owning BOTH. While the superbly crafted "bling bling" 18 K YG bezel is the highlight of the TT Blue YM, it's the deep and sexy blue dial of the TT Blue Sub that wins in the end.

Both are beauties....you and you alone will have to be the final judge.

JJ

I've never seen anyone wearing a TT Blue YM, but have seen a few TT Blue Subs around. I've also seen several TT Blue Sub billboards, but never one for the YM. My guess would be the Blue Sub would be more sought after, regardless of price.

Agreed....as far as "sought after" is concerned, the TT Blue Sub would win....hands down!! And that's a fact!!

I see that the Sub, TT Sub and SD are the main stream Rolex here. Why don't you Sub owners like diamonds on the Sub? I think the Sub is great but seeing a plain Sub just makes me wonder if anyone prefers to make it different. I like originality, but I get that little voice that says make it different.

To me, "the bling is not the thing", mikey. I am very conservative, so my rolex watches tend to reflect that. I like Steel & Gold because I can wear it with other jewelry items, like my gold class ring or a steel & gold small bracelet that my wife gave me for my birthday. But I like a stock watch - and one that exudes long-lasting quality and understated elegance.

Just me...

They are both readily available. The sub is currently on the billboards so it attracts more attention. Every AD I have gone to had the blue sub in stock; not everybody had the blue YM.
If your question is not just academic and you are trying to steer yourself in one direction based on what the masses are doing; dont buy a watch because more people tend to favour a particular model, buy it because it looks best on you!

Steve-O has a TT YM with a champagne dial. If you're extra nice to him, he might be persuaded to post a picture!!

Yeah let me guess, you have one of each, In the US if you can find a TT Blue Sub at MSRP you've found someting.......maybe in Singapore they just don't see a market. Maybe Timex, rather than Rolex is a good deal.....I was In Singapore last week and TT subs and ym were at a premium, I'll get you a two way ticket to Sams Club, so you can watch shop....You're an idiot.

Sorry to bring up this old thread but I'm having this same dilemma over choosing between the two watches as an addition to my SS Sub. I was at my AD today and she had the sub but not the YM. When she looked for it in the her 2007 Rolex price book, she could not find the Blue TT YM and it is also not pictured. Is it discontinued? She has a call in to Rolex to find out.....

Neither does anything for me, I'm not a fan of blue. A Platinum/SS Yacht-Master, however, is another ball game. To me that's one of the most stunning Rolex models.
