Custom Coated Daytona
Found this thread on some car site. It's custom coated SS Black Daytona. What do you guys think? It might look nicer in person, but,,,,(speechless)
And, of course it's selling above Retail Price |

ummmm....no.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of modifying, altering classics...especially the Daytona. |

I would have to see it and try it.. but if I ever bough one.. I would make sure I also have the factory default at home.

I think it's very cool looking but I would never wear it unless it was officially released from Rolex that way.
Seems like a fake to me |

I saw John Mayer Friday night in OKC and he was wearing one of these black Daytona creations. I'll admit that it does look good, but I just can't see spending the kind of money on one that they command. I don't suppose companies would make them, however, if there wasn't a demand for them.

Cool looking but I also could not see doing that to a Daytona--too much money to experiment with!

I like it!
I'm not a big fan of modified watches but if I have a few Daytonas lying around, I'd try it:)

My concern is the wear factor. Being black I'm sure it would show scratches more. One reason I sold my Porsche, got tired of polishing black!

I believe it costs about 600-700 for the custom coat per their website. It's a personal preference but if i had a daytona, I wouldn't do it. Here's a pic of Sub they coated as well.

Just think about paying over sticker price for a new car and driving it off the lot without a warranty... same deal. Of course, most people know there are plenty of new cars priced the same or less than the frankenwatch Daytona so it is definitely a likely comparison. Blaine |

It's an interesting look..
But I wonder...Why would somebody want their watch to look like a Casio.....

I'd take it. Of course, I am still waiting for my SS daytona which was mailed from Ohio to Chicago last Thursday.
Straight up--I take the original. |
