Keith,
The main difference is the ability to separate the 24 hour hand w/ the 12 hour hand on the GMT II. This allows 2 timezones at once without moving the bezel.

Fonts, stick markers, lume, acrylic vs. sapphire crystal, lug holes (depending on serial). There is a great website, I think it's gmthistory.com
