Loose winder?

On my new GMT II (posts passim), I've noticed that the winder has unscrewed itself a couple of times in the past week.

When I set the time, etc., I tighten the winder firmly, without excess. Should I be doing more?

I'm just a wee bit puzzled on how the crown could un-wind itself!!

Are you sure you're screwing it down properly? Once it's fully screwed in, you don't have to use excess pressure to tighten it. Just stop once the crown is fully in.

If this problem still persists, you might want to take the watch to an AD and have his watchmaker check it out.

Good luck - JJ

without excess? that sounds to me like you're not tightening it down all the way. grasp it firmly (by hand) and tighten it until it stops.

You're not just coming to that conclusion, are you Tony?

BTW, Melissa is asking for a YM Club logo. You did such a great job with the others I thought you might accommodate her with one! TIA
