President vs. Daytona in 18k

I am thinking about making my first Rolex purchase ... I have almost everything else, but a Rolex. I don't really know which way to go the President, or the Daytona .... any suggestions?

Also, I like to buy watches in gold, but is it worth it to spend the extra money with a Rolex? I really like the Daytona in stainless.

Which Roles is the hardest to get right now?

Daytona in SS is very popular.

Your choices are polar opposites IMHO.

You can't go wrong with your dressy gold DD vs SS Daytona dilemma.

If it were my choice, though, it would be the Daytona with a white dial in SS.

Out of the two in yellow gold,I'd go the DD with white dial and Roman numerals...
If it were white gold,I'd go the Daytona with meteorite dial...
Best of all would be the Platinum DD and ice blue dial......
Hard choices,good luck!

I love my Presidential. It was passed on from my father who bought it in the 80's. It actually has Tiffany & Co. on the dial. Great watch. Looks the exact same as the ones they still make today.

You know I went threw the same question a while back when I was considering my first Gold Rolex... In the end I wanted something that would suit my style and lifestyle...

I went to different AD's over 2 weeks trying out different watches, dials, and versions and finally decided on this... and I love it!

As a first Rolex, the SS. Then you can buy something more expensive later and still have an everyday watch. IMO, of course...

Icon7 Chronograph Is My Choice

In my opinion, I like the Daytona.

When comparing a sport watch design to a dress watch design, there is a difference of course.

My preference is the Daytona, since I lean towards sport designs.

If I had my druthers, I would choose the Daytona, white gold, meteorite dial, with gold bracelet.

That is such an oustanding watch, looks fantastic.

+1

It really depends if you want a more sporty vs. a more "dressy" watch (did I just say that? )...

You can get pretty good deals on used DD's...

It depends if you want to be reminded of the day and date, or if you want to find out how long it takes to drive to the supermarket. I'd go for the Day-Date, or this

ps - It's Tuesday the 14th, and it takes me 2 minutes and 36 seconds.

I understand Gold watches ding and scratch easier. So if you go that route I'm not sure that you would want to use it as a daily wearer.

I don't think you could go wrong with either of these choices, however it just depends on what kind are you looking for. A dressy versus more sporty alternative?

I would anytime opt for DD Pres since it is top of the line product of Rolex.

president if you can part with 20k+ as mentioned your two options are, apple or orange.

daytona is a complicated time pieces with lots of stuff going on, i personally like the timeless look of the president, it's simple, clean and oozes $$$$

I have the exact rose gold Daytona with a black face as CX007 and really enjoy it. I wear a 18kt/SS Daytona everyday and like the look and wear of the sport watches. Either you have to buy what appeals to you.

if its a choice between all gold DD or daytona, get the DD, to me it looks very nice and class =DD
but IMO, i like either a SS or TT daytona as a personal preference, very blinged out watch ^_^

If you're opting for yellow gold, then I'd say the DD, but for rose gold - black dial Daytona all the way!
