i got a day-date that needs some loosening. Should i go to the Rolex Service Centre in toronto to get it fixed or can i just go to any store to get it loosened?

usually any good store can make an adjustment... unless you want a link added (then you should have it with your watch or might have to buy one).

If you're referring to the tightness of the bracelet, you can do the adjustment yourself on the clasp.

Take a toothpick and press in on the adjustment pin on the clasp...wiggle it a bit and slowly and carefully tilt it until it pops out. Be really careful not to let it 'sproing' into deep pile carpet or you'll never find it again. Then just reinsert it in another, tighter hole on the clasp.

The toothpick will assure that you don't scratch anything.

That's my suggestion.

wood's softer than steel, for sure... I just pop each side and slide the link back (or fwd)... that way I don't have to catch the pin.

WHOA!! WHOA!! Guys, the guy said he has a DD....which would most probably be on a President bracelet.

If memory serves me right, the Prezzie does not have any adjustment facilities in the clasp....just like the new Jubilee bracelet with concealed clasp.

I was thinking Datejust as well... is this true about the hidden clasp models?

Yes, sadly. The President and new Jubilee with concealed clasp have absolutely no micro-adjustment possible. You either take off a link or add one on for that final fine-tune adjustment.

It's a bit of a gamble. If you have the right size wrist...fine. Othewise, you'll find that adding one link makes the watch too loose....while taking it off makes the watch too tight!! Pain in the ass!!

Now,the small wristed can sell the extra links to the large wristed

Then we can make everybody fit.Its not "one size fits all" so a bit silly,in my opinion.Extra links cost $.Another reason I wont go DD or DJ.Now if they start to produce 40/42/44mm DJs,then I will

consider ...

Yes Chris ask JJ he is the world leading authority on the subject.

Now myself need half a link extra in the oyster for a comfortable fit.Its funny in the UK had to pay extra,but when I replaced a SD in Singapore they fitted the half link free of charge.I believe you can get half links for the DD bracelets.

somehow things like that are expected here, its like the "if i'm going to give you some business you have to give me something to sweeten the deal" sort of thing.

It is a little tight but an extra link is too loose.
Who can supply a gold half link?

I've seen these short links on the oyster style bracelets before... Too bad the don't make them for the presidential bracelets.
