Ever since I've had my LV, it seems to gain time no matter what position I keep it at night. So I finally decided to actually figure out how much time it was gaining.

During a 24 hr period, it gained 8 seconds. Is this normal or should I be sending it to the RSC? I really hate not having my Rolex for at least a month.

I believe that chronometer specifications are no more than +6 a day so you should send it in. Correct me if I'm wrong guys...

Well first how long have you had your watch,sometimes need a bit of time to wear in.Now the COSC spec is -4 to plus 6 secs a day,yours is a tiny bit over.Now first give your watch a full wind of around 40 crown turns set your watch with a reliable source,recheck with same source.Then wear as normal now night time try first resting your watch crown vertical crown up,that position normally trims the most seconds off,crown down one or two less.Try it over a week taking note of any time difference,then if you are still not happy get it regulated.Now regarding regulation if your AD has a in-house watchmaker its a very simple process,and could be done while you wait.And from start to finish to machine time set and regulate,reseal and re-pressure test around 20-30 minutes tops.But even if it was still running + 8 secs I would leave it till its first service was due,whats in 2 seconds over spec.

Depending on how important telling exact time is for you.
If you like to have your watch within a minute of exact time you would have to set your watch once a week. If you like to have it within 5 min of exact time you have to reset it once a month.

I would get the watch regulated if I could go to an AD and get it done in 30min or so..
( Gaining8s/day or waiting 4 weeks for a regulation seems to me to be a pain of equal degree)
