Bling!

OK, so I'm no pimp, in fact I am pretty conservative. However I want my next Rolex to have diamonds.

I am thinking the Date Just. SS/Gold with maybe a black dial. I want diamonds at least on the hour markers, but I want your thoughts on diamonds on the bezel as well. Really not even considering diamonds on the bracelet.

Will be buying a used one. Too many diamonds. Gaudy or cool?

Also, why are date just models so much less than the day/date ones? Seems like a bunch more to pay for the benefit of knowing what day of the week it is.

Thanks for the help.

I was thinking about a diamond bezel and dial myself. I think it would be a great choice

KansaiVet,

I'm somewhat conservative too. My opinion... save the diamonds for your wife's (or girlfriend's) finger. Just go SS/Gold or even Solid Gold.

The Day-Date models are more expensive because in addition to the day read out, they are solid gold (pink, yellow, white) or platinum.

I was hoping for a partially gold plated (TT) watch with diamonds somewhere.

I don't really care for diamonds on any part of a Rolex.

I can see this is very subjective. I guess every watch choice is. That's the beauty of it. Thanks for all the posts. Anybody else?

Thanks Hotrod. Slim that is a good looking DJ!

Maybe I am getting ahead of myself. I should pay off my LV before I buy another. Naaaaaaaah.

I need professional help.

There is no gold plating on any current Rolex watches. Everything yellow is 18K.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I say if it smiles at you go for it. Personally I'm not into diamonds on watches but I'm dying for a TT blue sub, as I sold the last one I had and bought a SS sub date a couple of months ago to hold me over. But, I don't want to get rid of it to get the TT Blue, so I'm just going to have to wait a while and just enjoy the pix of JJ's and all the others that have one.

As long as you are looking for gold plated, then perhaps you might also settle for cubic zarconia?... in which case I can refer you to........ebay.

I don't want fake anything. No zircons. No "gold-tone". No Fauxlex.

Not a fan of diamonds in any mens watches, but we are all different. Now quite fond of diamond rings, and other jewellery. But in watches just a plain old S.steel without any added bling.

used to own a DJ with diamond markers , if you're just looking for a little bling i think thats fine, it brightens up the watch and looks nicer that way if you're looking for a dress watch. my currently DJ has a diamond bezel and i think its hideous , too bright for wearing, i hate it when people comment on the diamond bezel.
here's what they look like
