What is market price for this 5513?

Have been looking at this late R series 5513. Comes with the band and recent service but NO box or papers.

I am not affiliated with the seller and am thinking about buying it.

Opinions as to a fair price in today's market?

Thanks,

H

Is the band appropriate to the year production?

That is a beautiful watch!

I'd say the upper $3k to lower $4k range. I sold a R-serial 5513 here on TRF maybe 2-years ago that had been gone through by Bob Ridley for about $4k (with the correct bracelet). Yours looks a little cleaner, though.

I would personally stay below $4K, upper $3's preferred.

I tried this on yesterday at the sellers shop.

The bezel turned nicely in counterclockwise. But it was a little sluggish going clockwise. Should I care?

Appreciate your opinion!

Seller started out higher and is starting to come down.

Seller has also posted on e-bay. If he does not sell it on e-bay, I may trade for it.

Only sticking point is that he does not want to take the back off because it has just been serviced and pressure tested and he has no picks of movement or inside of caseback.

However, he has had a high end watch shop for 4 years about an hour and a half from me and is an authorized dealer for Bell, etc. So I am torn on this point. Advice?

If I was to sell a watch, knowing it was water tested, I would respond the same way and/or ask you to fork the bill for the re-testing.

That is only reasonable. I would have no problem paying for that and would gladly put the cash on the table before he opened the watch.

He may not have the proper equipment in place, thus, if he opens the watch he will not guarantee sealing. Then it becomes your responsibility to ensure it gets checked. If you are buying in person, then it is not a problem!

Also, I e-mailed him that I am willing to accept a written statement from him as to what is under the hood.
