*** Time For A Poll ***

Taking the following into consideration :

Purchase price
Resale Value
Quality
Durability
Value for money
Exclusivity
Prestige

Which watch manufacturer, in general terms, offers the best value for money and would be your choice.

I would think we'd need to put those items in some sort of order/ranking before you could answer.

To my mind value and exclusivity pretty much negate each other in the watch world.

Not to be a PITA.

I forgot to include an " I Don't know" option.

Ah. The first time I opened your post, the actual poll hadn't appeared yet.

I voted Panerai. Don't get me wrong, I love Rolex, but had to take into account exclusivity. It is much harder to find the Panerai you want than a Rolex, simply because Panerai produces a fraction of the number of watches that Rolex puts out.
Fewer people wear Panerais for that reason, but the demand is heavy. If you have the money to pay, you can get the Rolex you want today (with a few exceptions). If you want the Panerai of your dreams, you must search long and hard , and/ or get lucky. JMO. Larry.

With those factors in mind, I would choose Rolex. However less the resale factor, I would go with Omega and Brietling.

I have all three brands, all are great time pieces.

Rolex only. Perhaps that is because I am new to watch collecting though. Seems to be all that I am interested in at this point.

I wonder how that poll would go over in a Pani or Patek forum?

For pure beauty and supreme quality of workmanship, I say nobody beats Rolex. But there are a few individual models that come pretty darn close.

For me, the Omega Planet Ocean is a VERY close runner up.
