Nobody beats Rolex when it comes to case re-finishing. Great job!
BTW Vern, are you sure Rolex polished out the case-back or replaced it? I would have thought it would be easier to replace it, not to mention the watches integrity (strength) when removing so much metal from the case-back. John. |

Hi John,
When I spoke to RSC, they did mention that if the engraving was too deep that it took out too much steel, they would replace the caseback. The watchmaker assessed it that it was not deep that a buff will suffice without affecting the integrity of the case. Replacing the caseback was $200. In my experience, RSC in Toronto are more cautious than anything else Regards, Vernon Quote:

Who are you trying to kid? RSC Toronto let me walk out their front door with a defective braclet (verified by my AD). They gave me some bogus story about a break-in period on the braclet. Cautious my a$$.

F%@ked if I know. The AD told me they'd give me some kind of update on this thing. Heard nothing and it's the end of the week.
I did hear back from RSC this past Monday morning when I asked last week for a signed statement from the tech that the braclet wasn't defective. They said they would give me one......................"upon completion of another review on the issue I had with the watch by a technician! This tells me that they couldn't have given a f#$k about my concerns when I walked in the first time and NOW all of a sudden they've taken interest? What could have possibly happened to the watch in 72 hours that they just couldn't have sent me that signed work-order in the first place the afternoon after I was there and called??????????????? My opinion of the Rolex brand is totally shot with the run around I've been given the past week on this thing. The line that "When your buy a Rolex, you're buying the service" is a load of crap. This isn't a used watch. It's brand new. With the way they treated me, my watch should have been given FIRST priority over anything else they were doing. From here on out, whenever someone approaches me when spotting this watch on my wrist and asks me about how do I like the watch, the first thing out of my mouth will be the poor quality and shotty service I got from RSC. I'll be writting a letter to Geneva after I get this thing back. |

Man, you guys should seriously come to Auckland to see how well customers are treated here by the ADs. Just ask Mike (Sevoguy) who was here last month and visited Mansor's Jewellers for an additional link for his Blue Sub. He was very happy with the service and treatment he received there. JJ

Seems everyone on this board is influenced by the Rolex brand and don't want to recognize their organization has problems they shouldn't be having. Especially for what they are charging on these things. With regards to any AD, the problem doesn't lay in the "sales" department. They'll be more than happy to sell you a watch. The problem lays with after sales service. It abhorent to say the least. Since I handed that thing in, I went back to wearing my 8 year old, beat-up, SS Swatch. This thing is all scarred up, stretched links, raked up acrylic face and red dial. 3 years ago it developed a leak so on cold days the face would cloud up. It still works and keeps excellent time. Everything on the watch is symetrical. I've got people noticing that I switched back and coming up to me asking me where's the Rolex. So I tell them the story. They laugh. Now it's a running joke in the office. Oh yeah, and this is in the Bay St. Financial District by the way. |

I don't agree. I don't think he was mistreated at all. RSC looked at the bracelet and gave Kris their assessment. Kris chose not to agree with the RSC and brought the matter to his AD. His AD is now in the process of rectifying the situation. All this time Chris is here on TRF smearing the name of Rolex because his watch can't be shaped into a pretzel. Kris, I'm truely sorry you're having this problem with your new Rolex, but come on already, let Rolex sort it out and give it a rest.

Kris,
Most people have no issues with RSC. Now that your AD is helping you with the issue, let's wait for the final verdict. Quote:

roadcarver - outstanding results! Wear it well!
As far as warranty service/admitting to a defective product goes - I'm with Kris here. Anyone prepared to buy Kris a new bracelet so poor old RSC doesn't have to endure Kris "wanting to shape his bracelet into a pretzel"? Thought not. |
