Finally nailed it!

I have been trying for weeks to nail the watch at 10: 10: 31, while the second hand is sweeping. Ha! Ha! got you! you bugger.

we can't see the crown in the pic, so how do we know if the second hand was in motion?

The new Canon 1D Mark III will shoot ten frames per second. How many hacks do you get on a Rolex in one second?

What am I missing? What's the significance of 10:10:31? Also, note where the minute hand is. Just about right on the 10 marker. Should be almost dead between 10 and 11. Could almost argue you captured 10:09:31!!!!

10:10:31 is the time that all the Rolex watches are set to in each picture you will find in their literature or on their website. It lets you see 'Rolex' very clearly and gives the face a clean, spread out look.

... except that the minute hand is spot on 10 past. It should be halfway between 10 and 11.

I'm not the first one to point this out!

If you're referring to my pic, that's because of the angle of the shot. Trust me, that one is between 10 and 11.

I always thought they did like a 10:08 so as not to cover up the 2 O'clock marker. Guess Rolex does it differently.
