Does this look legit?
Hi,
I'm in the process if aquiering my first Rolex. I have found one I am really interested in, but before I proceed I would like to ask you to have a look at it. The deal is from a reputable seller, so I'm not very worried. But I'm still quite new to Rolex, so it would be appericiated if you told me what you make of it. It is a 168000 with a mid R serial (1988 is my birth year..). For my money the colour dial and the hands are a little off. But that gives me something to search for next. ;) Thanks for your time and help! -Rousp |

No mass marketed replica exists that has 168000, and I can see no reason that someone would replicate it.
By the way, welcome to the transitional club =) I have one too. I think (or hope) one day they get more street cred. |

Thanks for the advice, as I said the seller is in good standing both here on rolexforums and other places. So I consider her legit and trustworthy.
Do you have any comments on the watch? I must admit that my knowledge about Rolex isn't the best. I have focused on other brands earlier.. My own thoughts: The lugs look OK, not over polished, the case has sharp edges. Crownprotector are not damadged or over polished. Face of the watch looks good, except a small colour mis-match in the hands and dial. |

Also, I am no expert, but it is hard to tell from photos on the hands. I recently bought a watch where the hands seemed silver to a gold patina, and people kept bothering the seller but he assured them they were not silver. When I got it, the hands and lume were beautifully matched to the patina, as advertised.
