Underrated for me would be JeanRichard. Theyre under the umbrella of Girard Perregaux, their designs are original, quality is excellent, and best part is they're priced at the same level as baume or tag.

Ball is also underrated in my opinion. They make the best extreme condition automatic watches. I see them as the mechanical version of gshock. Resistant to shock, magnetism, temperature, water plus unmatched visibility at night. And the best part is their watches look great.

Another underrated brand (maybe the most underrated) would also be Seiko. They make solid watches, their own movements, very serviceable at a pricepoint thats accessible by everyone.

As for overrated, well, Id rather not say. Hahaha

Overrated - Rolex (don't get me wrong, love them, but they aren't THE watch brand, as many here believe)

Underrated - Glashutte Original. Finishing/quality no worse than Patek, price significantly lower.

Lucky for me Mosco already said it. Although theres definitely another brand worth mentioning. Want a hint? It starts with "P" and ends with "ANERAI" haha. Sorry guys. I just think that theyre waaaaay overpriced.

Oh almost forgot another underrated brand: Piaget. I would put them in the same level as Blancpain and Glaschutte Original in terms of quality.

I tink u guys are absolutely right about panarei way overpriced. The most overrated would have to be Hublot though really a marketing company more then anything and a AP knockof of the Royal Oak off shore.Alos UYliss Nardin (R.I.P. to there CEO just died yesterday) almost all eta movements that sell for 6k and above

Most underrated would be Zenith one of only a few Manufcterors of Chrono's/ As well as Glasshute original make truly unique designs a a reasonable price.

Also Rolex is one of those brand's that is one of the most overrated and underrated at the same time. Overrated by people that don't know much about mechanical Watch's and underrated by those That do know alot about mechanical watches. They fit that perfect nitch of a brand that one aspires to have when there young wheter they are into watchs or not. While they dont have high Complications like many other Brands, I think that more a marketing customer analysisi strategy then lack of competence or know how.Even though with the Celleni collection they look like they may be changeing that

i dont know about the degree but here are some of the over rated and under rated.

under rated:
victorinox - good solid watches so why give them a bad name?
omega

over rated:
rolex - for overpriced and marketing gimmicks
some iwc models
panerai - for "exclusivity"

zenith has stumbled in the past so they are trying to catch up from behind. so it think its justified that they be rated low right now.

overrated has to be TAG Heuer along with Bell & Ross (both great examples of brand over substance)
underrated IMHO would be Grand Seiko. A lot of people cannot get past the word "Seiko" in the name which appeals to me.

Tag Huer overrated really the Mikrograph and Mikrotimer are some of the most amazing movements ever. But ya beyond that there overrated.
Also Blancpain to me is a little underrated, to me Blancpain is exquiste the villert colection is gorgeous and its complication capabilities is up there with Patek and some of the independents like FP journe.

The reason i love Rolex is, i like the design of their watches, and not fussed on the designs of other manufacturers even though the movements are probably better. Rolex overrated, probably but i wouldn't buy anything else.

Overrated is Rolex yes they are but I love them anyway. 7k for a Sub still burns me though.

Underrated is Bremont, I just don't get why more people do not own one. They are gorgeous, dependable, hardy, functional, and affordable, yet I have never seen one in the wild and when I talk to AD's when I say Bremont I might as well have two heads.
