Got my very first DJ!
Finally got my very first and classic DateJust. 8 mil ser, ref 16030 from Timekeeper.
SS, fluted bezel, acrylic crystal (pristine), silver tapestry dial. It is the T Swiss T dial. Open 6 and 9 on this one. Everything seems original. I'm happy with this DJ. Thanks to all for giving your thoughts whether a 36mm would be small or just right on a 7.5" wrist and I'm pleased to say it doesn't look small at all! Pictures to follow.

Congrats on a classic. I love the luster of the plex crystal. Last week, while traveling for work I wore a 42mm Oris Worldtimer. Huge watch. After returning home I wanted a change, so wore my 86' DJ. The 36mm wears great, very comfortable. Not too small at all.
Enjoy and wear it in good health. And don't forget pics! dP

Congratulations--I am a fan of the Datejust as well. Another aside: my wrist is bigger than 7.5" so watch size is something I consider. But I have tried the Datejust on before and I think it looks great. In fact, some 43mm watches I wear (divers) seem a little big to me sometimes. I think Rolex is right to resist the big watch trend while their smaller models are stilll selling well. In fact, I think to many people wear watches that are too big, but of course, this is only my opinion.

Beautiful watch, Vernon. That is indeed the exquisite tapestry dial. The bezel is SS engine-turned, sadly no longer manufactured.
Enjoy that beauty and wear it in good health. JJ
