Interesting. Is that the weight of the whole watch, or just the gold?

The heaviest watch I got (my husband's) is APROO 18KYG weight almost 300g.. The DSSD is almost 220g. My 116505 is less than 200g. 116718 (sold) was 225g if I remember correctly.

I have a 116528 and it is just under 200g. The white gold ones are just over 200g.

As for the DD weight mentioned above, not even the (non-platinum) DDIIs weigh 260g.

The gold Submariners do not weigh 296g.

As for the YMII, the weight above might be correct.

I weighed a couple of 18238 = 134.1 grams total... everything including glass, movements, crown, spring bars, scratches, dust and dirt.

118238s are heavier, I think 140 grams but I cannot recall rightly anymore.

Well those weights seem to be slightly heavy as the DD 118206 Platinum was only 225g

Maybe you did, but my 116619 weighs 229g. Can´t imagine the YG-version being that much heavier.

Your AD needs to check his equipment ;)

The GMTc 18ct is a chunk of gold.

The Daytona was weighed with its "beater" buckle so there's a good 25g to be added for the full set.

Perhaps more than 300grs. My SS one weighs close to 230grs. And the gold one is considerably heavier. I would say at least 350grs. At the end of the day we are talking about a $80k Retail price watch.

Don't forget the impact of varying numbers of bracelet links as you compare total weights.

Rolex submariner 1992 18k Yellow Gold

I am in the middle of a clear out and the person that was going to buy my 1992, 16618 claims that the 2016 equivilent has a higher gold content.

I have spent hours trying to find the answer on google and can not.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Yes the 2016 116618 version has more gold due to the larger case size, bigger clasp and solid center links. Here is a pic of my 16618 at 184 grams. So you are looking at about 45 grams more in the new model.
