If you had the choice to get a SS Thunderbird or a Sub date for only about 500 bucks differnt in price, what would you do? Remmber this is my first Rolex and its going to be my daily watch.

Here's a stupid one. What is a Thunderbird anyway? Isn't it like a TOG or something? BTW even though I don't really know what the Thunderbird is go with the sub date.

Oh so a Thunderbird is just a TOG. I personally like those, but IMO the sub is better.

I believe you are talking about the older T-Bird, not the new TOG? If that is the case then I say 16610 all the way. It will hold its value, but more importantly it will last many lifetimes. Let us know what you decide.

Yes, JJ, you have my permission to post the EXP.
And Tyler, stick with the Sub. It's more substantial looking than the TOG and holds its value better. You'll grow into the Sub. You'll grow out of the TOG.

get the sub imho, it is the most flexible of the choice open to you.. alternatively the all black bezel GMT 2 if you would use the GMT function frequently.

If you do a lot of travelling, the GMT-II would be a more sensible buy.
If you are averse to bezel fiddling (like me ), then you should get yourself one of these!!

This is a *very* nice watch, will fit quite nicely under the cuff of a dress-shirt, is different than anything your bosses are wearing, and it's just a plain great watch. It's substantial, sporty, dressy, functional, and the red/black date wheel is a really nice touch too. If you were like me, and worked in a more "physical" job I'd also say Subdate. But for a financial firm, I'd go with the TOG. Besides, you wanna know a secret? You'll end up with a subdate eventually anyways, everyone does.
