My 1601

I thought I'd just share some pics of my "new" SS 1601 with WG bezel. I won it at auction a few weeks ago and had it serviced immediately (thanks Steve for the recommendation)

The movement was in pretty good condition and only a screw needed to be replaced. The 6251H bracelet has a bit of stretch so I'm planning to get an aftermarket one to wear it with. Unfortunately I have not yet heard back from MY regarding fixing the bracelet.

Just a question- did 1601 come with WG bezels originally?

BTW sorry for the crappy iphone pics!

nice 1601 ! Yes, the 1601 was WG fluted bezel (or tu-tone with a YG fluted bezel, YG crown and tu-tone bracelet.)

1603 = SS engine turned bezel
1600 = SS smooth bezel.

1601 with bracelet

Just an example of how the 1601 can look with a leather bracelet...

Cheers

Hi

What's needed to add leather bracelet, and what's a good place to buy them? Thanks

Any 20mm strap will fit I think, , you might need to get some new springbars, you might also want to have a look at this thread re. endlinks to eliminate the "gap"

Michael Young will make that bracelet look new! He did my vintage 1601 bracelet and it looked awesome. Too bad I sold it!

Very good looking watch. I wear mine on bracelets, leather, and even nylon. They always look great, super classic.

Lovely Datejusts. I always miss them soon after one leaves my collection and I have to have another. The white gold and smooth bezels are my favorite look for DJs.

That's sweet!
I am actually at the parking lot of me and a friend's favorite meeting place, a diner, where he is bringing a white dial non quick 1601 that I only hope looks as nice as yours! Will share pictures here if it's worth taking. Wear in good health
