Why not ask the mob? What should I consider < 10k
I'm in a bit of a funk. Not sure what watch to ponder over next. I do have some I want that are tooooooo much money for my budget.
I love the smurf (WG Rolex Sub) and the VC 1921. Two of my gold "reach" watches. I hope to get them one day, just not any time soon. So, here is my collection... + a rolex sub 16610 which I'm sure you all know what it looks like. Edit, why not add a pic. I don't want to flip any of them (except maybe a 210 for a 232 or maybe a 425). But the 210 could be considered on the block for a really stunning piece. I like simple watches, but am open to anything. I like thinner watches as well (but not like ultra thin). Chrono's aren't my favorite, but could go for a simple one perhaps, maybe with one or two sub dials (definitely not 3). Biggest watch I'd wear would be a Panerai 232 (at 47mm, but wears more like 45mm). I can't wear big thick watches like a 45.5mm PO, BP Fifty Fathom or a PAM 305. Oh, and no PCL's. I had a GMT IIc and flipped it. They just don't work for me. If I got the smurf, I'd buff those things off! One that has caught my eye recently is the Stowa Flinger Chrono, but watchtime's review of it wasn't that glowing. Also wonder what the finish would be like. Kind of cool to me as it is a "simple" chrono. Not in love with it, just showing what I like. Other watches I like (that I can't pull off wrist size) are the blue Omega PO (45.5mm), the IWC Big Pilot (oh yeah, I'm a sucker for high PR movements), the BP Fifty Fathoms (just doesn't sit right on me). So, can I get some pics and enabling on what to consider next? I'm not going to go out and buy it the next day, as I like to think about things. Any price from $3k - 10k is great (used). TIA!

What about a 44mm Omega Speedmaster. You can put the metal bracelet or a strap and it can make the watch look very different. Just a thought!

Your Panerai is iconic as well as the Rolex. From my opinion the Omega Speedy is also considered one of those iconic watches as well. Good luck!

SS IWC Big Pilot
It would be on the high side of your budget, but I've always loved the manual wide power reserve and simplicity.

since you are into classics, I would second an Omega Sppeedmaster, 9300 or the manual moon watch is your choice

Good reminder. I've tried it on before. Fit pretty well and love the 7 days.

I have looked at that stowa recently but at only 41mm I find it a bit of an oxymoron. Its very nice but A small flieger?? Have a look at an iwc ingenieur chrono, 372501 Ss 42.5 mm version. It may not be for you but it's a beautiful classic watch with hint of a moden twist IMHO.
Cheers
