Question

Good day Friends!

From what I've observed with Patek, tourbillons on watches are usually not displayed in the face. Are there models which display the tourbillon in the face?

Thank you!

I don't believe I have ever seen a displayed tourbillon on a Patek's dial, I would like to but it seems that you'll have to go with ALS, JLC, AP or VC for that!

Thanks buddy! It's because I have this friend who showed me his watch, it was Patek with a visible tourbillon. I was thinking that it cant be true because I myself haven't seen such watch by Patek. It just bothers me seeing that watch that's why I posted a question to our Patek Philippe community.

or alpina....or tag.....or a number of other brands. a tourbillon is a nice trinket and interesting, but, it's not exclusive to the haute horlogerie brands by any means.

Well not to insult friend but it is most probably a replica (unless I am mistaken about Patek's tourbillons).

Why of course not! I was pretty much comparing to brands that are in the same category but you are absolutely right! Tourbillons can be found on a whole lot of watches in a whole lot of different brands, whether they are considered Haute Horlogerie or not. In fact, those very cheaper (price wise, of course) tourbillons are considered just as good as the high end Swiss ones.

Besides, you do not really buy a tourbillon for its benefits on a wristwatch's accuracy because it has been proven a rather long time ago that it wasn't as good as Breguet thought it would be when he created it. In my humble opinion it remains a very good horological masterpiece that is mesmerizing by its beauty and by the craftsmanship put into its creation but it is more decorative than useful.

I have never seen a Patek with a tourbillon displayed on the dial side. Should be pretty easy to tell. Does your friend have $350k minimum to spend on a watch?

Well, from what I know, he's a hidden wealth baby. As to how much, hmm, i havent seen a big amount from him so far and so I guess it could be big, or it could be small. Right now, i'm leaning on the probability of it being a replica. :)
