Just a few alarm bells...........

This auction at first glance looks legitimate.........and it very well may be legitimate

http://www.ebay.com/itm/IWC-Pilots-W...item19d6a19e90

BUT:

The seller:
1. Starts an auction for an 'as new' watch worth $12,000 at $0.99.
2. has never sold anything on e-bay every before.
3. has not purchased anything in the last 6 months.
4. gives a 'cut and paste' description of the watch from IWC website.
5. says the watch is in his safe deposit box, and will be sent upon receipt of moneys......
6. has 2 other watches in separate auctions and says they too are 'in my safe deposit' but the background photographs are very different.
7. has stock IWC photos of the watch, and other photos showing it has not even been put on the wrist.

AND so a $12K+ every day of the week watch, questionable photos and opening bid of $0.99.....

Now there is quite a bit of smoke here......is there a fire??????

Well I put in a couple of bids at $7K but got out-bid in a matter of a minute or too......
Kind of makes me think perhaps there is some buddies of the seller bidding too.......

Ebay encourages people to start auctions at $0.99 to encourage bidding. Makes no sense to me but that's what they do.

Thanks Michael

I know ebay encourages auctions to start low, but $0.99....I think the listing cost is less if it is listed for a lower price. Also a seller will like more bids by starting low to make some think that the item is much sought after.....
