What Defines a "Collection"
Hey guys and gals. Haven't been on here in a while now, and i have another watch i'd like to share with you all. It was my 21st birthday last October and my dad being my dad (username: Colnago) had a nice surprise for me :D
There was a bit of a story behind it though. I live in Aberdeen, Scotland and he stays down near Darlington in England. Anyway there was a really nice clean Omega Seamaster that was up for sale in Aberdeen so he told me about it and asked if i could go and see it in person to make sure it was exactly as it looked in the photos before he would buy it. So i went along and met the guy selling it and had a chat and had a look at the Seamaster. As expected it was very nice and clean, not a mark on it, so i told my dad and he said right okay ill buy it then. Instead of posting it i picked it up from the guy in Aberdeen and took it down with me the next time i went down to England to see him. He told me to keep hush about the watch as he didnt want my step mum finding out he'd bought yet another watch! When i got to their house, me being me, blurted it out straight away "oh dad here's that omega you bought"...right in front of my step mum ....so he explained that he got a good deal on it etc and she just tried to put it out of her mind haha. A few months later on my 21st my dad surprised me by turning up at my house in Aberdeen. Just out of the blue drove 300 miles to see me on my birthday! I was chuffed to say the least just to see him. He also came baring a gift. I opened the wrapping and what was there but a red leather box with an Omega crest on the front. It was the Omega that i had gone to see, that i had checked over, that i had then delivered to my dad personally. It turned out that was the plan all along and my step mum was in on it too so she had to play along as if she was annoyed that he had bought another watch So anyway heres me, 21 with my Rolex Datejust and an Omega Seamaster :D ..... It's a hard life .... but somebody's got to live it Thanks Dad! (Colnago)

Great story and nice watch collection. But what's even better is that you've got Deadmau5 as your avatar. Great artist. Check out post #384 of this thread...

Proof the nut doesn't fall to far from the tree. Matthew, your dad has given you a great starting point.
Did the same for my son. He's up to 4 now which seems to work for him. Good, cause my GMT will stay on my wrist a little longer. dP

For a while I wanted the first one i buy myself to be a HULK Sub, but one of my mates got one and to be honest, I've not gone off it, but it doesn't appeal the same to me anymore. Where as the GMT is climbing the scale
