New Avenger II GMT - Wow!
This totally flew under my radar - Breitling has apparently revamped their Avenger line, making the cases slimmer, among other things - which I think is great!
This new GMT looks gorgeous to me, a perfect tool watch, and a very capable diver (minus bezel), at 300m water resistance! What do you think?! |

Besides making the case thinner, I've read the caseback is Ti, so the watch must be a lot lighter than one would expect.

I still haven't found any wrist shots online, only the press release photos. I am really looking forward to some "in the flesh" pictures.

It's on my radarscreen already. Less than $4K MSRP on a rubber strap with tang buckle, which sounds like a pretty good deal to me, esp after discount.

What's not to like? 43mm sport watch, choice of straps, workhorse ETA movement, good pedigree on the brand, and distinctive design. While I'm not madly in love it, I think it is one of be better designs/update from Breitling in years.

Is it a true GMT like Omega, Rolex, Grand Seiko?
Does the 12 hour hand function independent from the minute hand so local time can be set with it while the GMT hand denotes home or GMT time? |

Apparently, it is not a true GMT. From what I have read, it is not an in-house movement from Breitling, and the ETA base they use doesn't have the jumping 12hr hand.

I'm not a huge Breitling fan, but this one looks pretty good. I think they bezel looks a little more subtle for them, which is good. Cleaner looking if you know what I mean.

I have always preferred a Rolex over the Breitling's but this one here looks absolutely brilliant..i am sure this watch steals the thunder and it is really good to have a beautiful timepiece like this at here at the Rolex's.
