5513 wg
On my recent quest for my first vintage I have come across a nice 5513 WG full set. The case is crisp with nice sharp edges and it has Rolex service history from 2010. The asking price is £4,750.
Now, I realise that these aren't the most sought after of the 5513's but it happens to be a birth year one for me, it is from a reputable dealer too so I am confident that it is as good as it looks. I want to start collecting and I know that these aren't strictly classed as vintage, if it wasn't from my birth year I don't think I'd be as tempted. I'm hoping to buy a wearable classic that will hold its value reasonably well should the roof get blown off my house or some other disaster. Can I go wrong with this or if I really want vintage should I wait and pay more for a plexi matt dial sports model? Dilemma's......... |

Clearly you mean WG surrounds and if that is the case I personally would wait and get a plexi w/ matte dial!! Cheers,

As Ken says a matt dial non-WG surrounds would be preferable, but if the watch sings to you and is the right price then I would get it if that is what you want.
You will pay more, but you should get a 'better' piece.

The "Modern" watch guy isn't interested in these either as they are not really "Modern" watches any longer... Now, that being said...If what you really want is a Matt Dial 5513, then I would wait and buy that... If you buy what you don't really love, then 99 times out of 100, you end up selling it in the end... No question!!!

It was really because it was super clean, complete and most of all from my birth year. I suppose I ought to be grateful that I'm too young to buy a true vintage birth year! haha
