Difference between Tudor Submariner ref 75090 and 75190

I just recently discovered the mini-subs from Tudor and trying to do some background research before I pull the trigger on one, sooooo.... does anyone know the main differences (or can point me to a good reference) on the Tudor Submariner 75090 and 75190? Years made? Movement upgrades? Design differences? I tried going through the reference section of this forum, but most of the posted links are dead, and google just came up with a bunch of "for sale" links. What I can gather so far, they're both about 35-36mm with date functions. I've seen mostly black or blue dials w/ matching bezels, w/ tritium markers... but I've come across a few with the markers in white-gold surround (like the current Rolexes). I've even found a few with stainless steel bezels and one with a white dial! Are these legit? any help would be greatly appreciated!

The bands are nicer on the 090
The crystal is plastic on the 090
The 090 has more rolex goodie such as crown bands and caseback

Do you have any photos of the one you are considering?

no pictures (there are several under consideration). Ideally, I would prefer one with a blue dial w/ matching bezel and white-gold surround markers, but I've come across some uncommon dials... gold, yellow, and white. There just aren't many references regarding these smaller sized Tudors and I just wanted to make sure that these are authentic if I do decide to take the plunge

My 75190 has a Rolex-branded crown and caseback. I really like its PCL Jubilee bracelet.

Is your current one blue? If so I'd just swing by RSC on 5th ave. If not, then that probably will be tough

Correction: My 75190 has Tudor branding on the caseback, with Rolex crown.

It is tritium, with white gold surrounds, and Rolex calls it 35mm.

Indeed! I actually had RSC replace my 75190 insert too.I think it was around $200.

I had them do it during a full service anyway, but I wouldn't be surprised if RSC could pop in a new insert while you wait or at least same day.

Is this rule in stone? Here is my 75090 with a sapphire crystal.
Could it have been changed from Plastic?

My stamped 75090 -- S/N 2865XX has Sapphire. It has a service bezel so I'm curious as well.

Maybe there was a transition between the
Plastic and sapphire. My serial is B4141xx.
1991 I believe.

Difference Btw Tudor Submariner 75090 and 75190

Hi there, this Tudor Submariner article from Time Curated does a good job of describing the differences between the 75090 and 75190.

I own both now and they have their distinct charm for sure.

75090 would have bi directional friction bezel and the 75190 would have unidirectional click bezel correct?
