Seiko SKX007 : collectible?

Hi :)

So my Rolex Sub is at RSC and it will be away for at least 4 weeks!

In the mean time, I wanted to buy a good value for money watch. I made some research and found that the Seiko SKX007K2 or J2 is a cheap but collectible watch.

So I ordered one from CreationWatches. Should expect to get it by next week.

It would be nice if you could share your thoughts on this watch :)

Thanks :)

SKX's are pretty much an untouchable value for the money! Seiko certainly has some collectible dive watches, but personally I wouldn't really put the SKX007 in that category. Regardless, I like them a lot and they offer lots of modding possibilities. Good choice!

Great value for the $$ invested. I've found them very easy to collect and mod.

Excellent value for the money. They are like potato chips ... you can't stop at one. Especially if you follow Dan's posts.

1) Everyone should have one for its looks and toughness. Perfect daily active watch and vacation watch without feeling like you are missing out or are underwatched.
2) Its not "collectable" The older high torques and japan only variants are getting that way and the older 6309, 6105s, 6159, 6125 and 6217s are very collectable and go up every year it seems. Might be the last fun and semi affordable vintages out there to collect in this day and age

Funny you should mention the 007, just took a wrist-shot yesterday:

Thanks for the great pictures everyone!

Actually got mine today. The watch is really stunning; great lume, nice bracelet,...

But I have a small doubt. I don't know whether I am expecting too much but I'll share my doubt with you.

So, the bezel is misaligned. It does not click right in the middle of 12'oclock. It seems that the chapter ring and dial are also misaligned.

Is this a common issue from seiko or am I overreacting?

Thanks for helping

I got mine yesterday, and based on the countless threads and posts that I have read about these watches, it is quite common, but nonetheless, this is a brilliant watch, and unbelievable value-for-money! Enjoy it!
