If it is a pre-ceramic Submariner or GMT-II, Rolex also replaces the bezel insert. All gaskets are also replaced, of course.

Not true they only replace insert if damaged and even if they recommend you do not have to comply. But inserts are a part and that part will incur extra cost if changed.

600 for Rolexes, 550 for Tudors. Well, old Tudors anyway; not sure if the new ones are handled differently. Expect to pay around 45 for return shipping if you're mailing it in.

It's possible that things have changed but I worked at a Rolex dealer for five years and I coordinated all of the repairs that were sent to Rolex New York. During that time, the Rolex service estimates always showed a new bezel insert for Submariners and GMTs. I don't recall ever seeing an estimate with a cost for replacing the insert.

RSC in singapore charges SGD$920 to service a rolex gmt master.

I think it's the same. I've seen a Rolex receipt from RSC Dallas dated Feb. 2014 for a service of a 70's Datejust 1601 and the base charge was $600.

Hong Kong RSC charges approx US$250 for Subs and similar and $300 for exp II, GMT, etc. The fastest turnaround time I ever had was 11 days. Others were 2 to 3 weeks. If your serial doesn't show on their local database, they may send the number to Geneva for verification, and this takes a couple of weeks. That happened twice to me.

Just had my Sub serviced at RSC NY and they provided an estimate @ $48.00 to replace the insert (recommended and I opted not to)

I'm surprised that more TRF members don't send their watches to RSC HK, considering their substantially lower price for service ??

I've thought about that.

But, I live in the US so I assumed re-importing it might be an issue (because RSC HK is not Rolex USA).

I don't think that would be a problem because you can prove ownership and that it was serviced.

Members here routinely send their bracelet to Michael Young in HK and have never posted an issue re having it returned
