Omega Speedmaster Lunar Dust
One of the new Omega 2014 novelties: http://www.watch-insider.com/news/ba...ega-novelties/
Apparently it's called the Omega Speedmaster Lunar Dust. Going to cost about the same as the Dark Side of The Moon. I have a sneaky suspicion Omega is gunning to do a new ceramic Speedmaster each year, now that they've got the ability to produce a nicely finished ceramic case with pushers etc. I love my DSOTM. If only they'd get rid of the date window.

Good deal if it costs the same as the DSOM considering the platina dial.

The article I shared in my first post seems to indicate that it's a 'platinum dial'. Whatever it is, the colour reminds me of the dial of my Apollo Soyuz, well, without the random patterns of course.
I think I'll be clearing a spot next to my DSOTM for some Lunar Dust next year :). Max |

Have to say that the more I see of this Watch, the more I like it....
I liked the DSOM as well, but felt too much like some of the other offerings on the wrist (the 9300 speedmaster had the same wrist presence, and a nicer strap).. But this looks totally like nothing else in the stable... Could be a must-have... hopefully will not have to wait until January 2015... |

It's platinum plated I read. Nice looking watch but the DSOTM is just more original and sexier. I bet the original will be more collectible but this one will be a better choice for people who don't like all black. I'm sure you will get the few lucky people that own both lol.

Nice variation of the DSOTM. I still prefer the looks of the regular 9300 version, though.

The Speedmaster 57 shows that Omega can do the Cal. 9300 in 41.5mm. I really hope that they bring the DSOTM and LD in that size too. It really looks good though. The case looks fantastic and the dial is beautiful.
The speedmaster 57 was ruined by PCL's. Something Omega seem to be making a habit of |

This is nicer than the DSOTM. The ceramic finishing is fabulous.

Looks amazing, hard to believe that it's ceramic. Omega is on another level.

Shouldn't the back of the case say Lunar Dust?

Hodinkee just posted a mini-review with more pix: http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/hands-o...nal-lunar-dust
Pretty interesting note about the bezel: "Additionally, the ceramic bezel on the Lunar Dust has been filled with luminescent material, so it (along with the hour markers and hands) actually glows in the dark – a small but cool addition."Looking forward to the first lume shot! Also, pretty interesting about the ceramic case: "The cool grey case begins as a solid block of bright white ceramic, which is then superheated to 20,000º F, turning the material completely grey, all the way through." If only it were thinner.... |

Is the case the same color as the DSOT? It almost looks lighter but perhaps that is a reflection off the dial...
