Vintage break...

I am getting ready to renovate a fixer upper house that I just purchased. It will be our new home. So I am taking a break from the watch obsession for a month or so; It's time to put these beauties back in the bank vault.

1- RedSub, Recently acquired, though I've never actually worn this watch, as the vintage band would have to be resized, and apparently I just don't have the guts to wear such a potentially expensive watch. Perhaps someday I'll get the guts to put it on using a nice cordovan strap...It's a fullset watch in excellent condition, I'd rather bang up my service dial 1680 #2 watch at this point. (Sorry RedSub owners)
2- Whitesub, Service dial Glows great in the dark, this one was the current work horse.
3- Clint Eastwood Rootbeer GMT price, need I say more...

In the meantime, I will wear this newly acquired watch: Omega 300m, I think I will handle the house upgrade...

Nice collection, good luck with house remodel. Always such a pleasant experience.

I like the leather on the Omega...do you know where I can get one?

The rootbeer will never be sold, well maybe...! I love owning a watch from 25 dollar raffle win, it would be tough to sell...

Good luck with the house.
Thanks, it's a downsize move to a single level home. And yes Karl, I should wear it, but in the safe it remains for now..

It's my first time doing a kitchen renovations, should be a party. These show up on eBay pretty regularly. If my renovation goes way over budget- I may sell you mine.

While im not doing any house work, i too have taken a break from buying vintage. Im focusing on getting back into my former hobby of collecting model trains. Im content with what i have now as far as my watch collection. All I need is to get my vintage Telsa chrono restored and I will be golden!

Well my hiatus didn't last long, though I won't wear this watch when I am doing the construction work!

UPDATE: Today I unloaded the white sub, and then put the redsub on a 1980's 93150 bracelet, keeping the near perfect 9315 for future use. I decided that I didn't need the whitesub when I already had the red submariner of my dreams...

Now with the Redsub on my wrist, I am going to enjoy it a few days/week, starting Friday. I've admired this model of watch for a few years, and I am elated to have a pristine RedSub finally in my collection and on my wrist...

Karl, thanks for reminding me that I was acting ridiculous; Who buys a RedSub in near mint condition and leaves it in the safe... Not I...

You got that right. I am turning 50 next year, no reason to leave this beauty in the safe. What really helped was that I received a very good deal on this watch, so it's staying on the wrist.

If anyone see's me re-posting the redsub for sale, please fly over to California and knock some sense in to me before I let it go...

Now, If I can just buy back my same year 1971 Pepsi that I sold last year, but that's story for another day...

Quite a few changes since my April 1st post:

Renovation nearly complete on the new smaller house, and my McMansion sold in one week.

Picked up a GMT 16700A, sold the omega and whitesub; going to look at 14060 with the engraved rehaut on Monday...

can you explain why you are storing the watches wrapped in a cloth in a ziplock?

It was temporary storage while I moved all of my stuff from one house to another... I am back in the game now, flipping watches with no end in sight...
