Asking about my Rootbeer bracelet?
Hi..folks..
I bought GMT 1675 Rootbeer ( ref 3460xxx) from my friend. At the first time he tell me something wrong about the TT oyster bracelet. The endlinks is aftermarket. There is no serial number on the clasp. There is no problem about that. Then I go to the jewelry and said the gold is real. I wanna asking about this bracelet.. - Is the buckle and clasp original? - What serial number should be on the clasp and endlink for this 1675? - Anyone know where can I buy for that? |

Is there a date stamp on the other clasp?
It is very possible the clasp was replaced. Usually a two tone clasp for the 7836 bracelet would show a 14 (for 14k) on it.. Also, is there a date stamp on the on the other clasp, i.e., 1/70 etc. |

I had the original "perfect" oyster bracelet for my 1675 Root Beer (~1975) - and the minute the SF rolex master craftsman [Giovanni] looked at it, he said I needed to replace it immediately!
The early riveted oyster bracelets are beautiful, but apparently they are known for not wearing well over the years. It shouldn't come as a big surprise that the clasp or the bracelet itself would need to be replaced (possibly more valuable with a good replacement bracelet than an original that is falling apart and needs to be replaced). |
