Servicing a Patek.

Good morning guys. I need a little help with my perpetual calender. It needs service next year and I live in a country or region with no patek dealer. My father travels 14hrs specifically twice a year every 5 to drop off his watches and pick them up. That seems like a waste. What are my best options. I live in Latin America.
Cheers

Why not ship with full insurance?

Any person in a shipping agency in my country that sees 100,000$ value box is going to steal it. People die here for less than 5k.

Do you have the ability to use private insurance? Something you could look into. You may also consider a service like Global Brinks.

Woah, that's nuts. Send it with your father. Or take a nice trip yourself! Maybe pick up some goodies.

Lol two round trip tickets to Geneva 17,000 one to drop it off one to pick it up several weeks later plus hotels for a week plus minus 5,000 plus service costs. Which brings me to the original question.

I'm no expert with this kind of high end shipping but just thinking out loud. You go to Cali a lot you say. Get a post office box in ca where you go (for work I assume) ship from states and arrange with patek to ship back to you when you know you'll be in ca. Just a thought...

If it's that precious to you, consider the alternative if it were robbed in transit.

Take the time/spend the money to hand-deliver it to HSWA in NYC.

This is the price we pay for having really nice things.

I agree with PatekSF here. Schedule a nice trip to NYC and enjoy the sightseeing, shopping, dining, etc.

Miro from Peru, as in Miro Quesada?

In any case, fly to USA and just ship it (insured by USPS, unless you have a private insurance carrier..) to a US dealer.

That was the best choice, my friend. I know what you mean. It's gonna be 17 years in this county next January from me. But I still remember how is in Latin America. Actually I am going for christmas and no Patek is going with me down there. My green one will be my companion.

Well I know that I wouldn't go to any South American country with my 5712, but I think even less with my Hulk, as it does kinda draw attention, even if in many countries they see a watch, kill hit you on the head with something and after see what watch they got
