New Moonwatch box

Hi everyone,

I always wanted to buy a Moonwatch, so the other day I went to my local AD to try one on. They had this new (big) box and honestly, this is magnificent. It comes with one of the best NATO strap I have ever seen. Now I want it even more.

I wanted to know if one of you guys own this package?

The package is very cool, the price increase that comes with it - not cool at all. After all I tend to wear watches much more than boxes

I don't care about the box. Just the watch matters. I hope they would have kept the ref. 3570.50 instead of those long ones.

I agree the price increase is steep. However I really like the nato.

I know I should search for that but if anyone can explain to me the differences between the 3570.50 and the new model?

Thanks

Is the NATO strap wearable or is it super long to accommodate a spacesuit (and thereby, at least for me, purely decorative)? I have tiny wrists as it is. :P

Looks like there are two straps in there...a NATO and a velcro "NASA" strap. Nice packaging. The regular red box never seemed fitting for the Speedy.

are you sure? Because based to the information "The Moonwatch presentation box is also available for purchase as an individual item at the Omega Boutique in Vancouver for $720" it seems to be a bit more. BTW the prices of Omega NATO straps are way over 100dollars too, I guess the logo makes the difference ;)

Because Omega can't make any so called modernisation improvements like co-ax to the original moonwatch, they had to justify the price increase some other way. That was adding the accessories with the watch. In my opinion.

I think they could have modified the movement to column wheel like in cal. 321. This way the price increase would be more understandable. Hope Omega even bothered to change the bracelet link pins to screws like in LE models.

I very much want that Omega Nato strap...just can't justify it when for the same price, I could get 10 high quality unbranded Natos.... At the same time, I feel like I'll eventually manage to justify it to myself....

I love the box, and would like to get it for my 145.012-67 Speedy, but I just don't have room in the safe... plus, the $700 price tag is hard to justify.

My local AD was saying that they have improved the clasp on the bracelet with this price rise so that it has micro adjustment like the submariner. Has anyone seen one yet to confirm whether it's true as I like the bracelet on my speedmaster but having an adjustment would be great.

The red box is 100% basic. It's fine as a box, but not the least bit luxurious. Do I care? Not really, but the new one is nicer.

I did enquire with Omega UK and they cannot confirm when the new boxes will be phased in but it is in progress.

And yep they confirmed the clasp is being updated but wouldn't indicate if this is due to coincide with the new style boxes.

Nice box and very surprised with the dual nato. Reminds me of the Alaska Ed that came out years ago.

I have read that the whole bracelet is upgraded. Apparently it is the one from 9300 model with screws instead of pins. Can anyone confirm?

That would be awesome. These older Omega bracelets are badly in need of an upgrade. Omega's bracelets used to be superior to Rolex's, but Rolex has upgraded and left Omega in the dust (in the bracelet dept).

Anyway, the new box...it looks nice. I'd be happy to have one, but to pay extra for it? Nah. I only wear the watch.

The new speedy refs will come with the 1958 957 bracelet. It's the same bracelet that can be found on the Apollo 11 40th anniversary limited edition.
