Pls help me ID a vintage Rolex
Hi there,
... the following watch is supposedly from 1962. I suppose it is a Oyster-Date-Perpetual (just from googling around). Could anybody confirm that it is: - compatible with yr. 1962? ... - any "Model number"? - manual wind, I guess? - was this a standard "metal-strap"? - anything else you can contribute? thx in advance - I REALLY appreciate people helping me out here! cheers, Al |

Remove the bracelet with a toothpick or similar, and the model number and serial number are etched on tne sides of the case.

Al,
Take off the bracelet ( use a tooth pick ) and between the lugs you will find the model and serial nos. These will answer your questions. Yes, its manual wind, and was on a metal strap, on the clasp you will find the codes. The experts will guide you further.

In '62 the numbers roll over. My '62 does not hack.

So, you need to get the actual watch in your hands, or ask for the info from the seller.

Could easily be 1962 if that's your question. Getting the SN would help. - any "Model number"? Probably a 6694 - manual wind, I guess? Yes - was this a standard "metal-strap"? I think it originally came with a rivet SS bracelet. - anything else you can contribute? I only know this much because a friend has a nearly identical watch ca. 1960 and I'm helping him decide how far to go with restoration.
