Advice from the experienced

Hi,
Recently a vintage watch has caught my attention. I own all modern pieces but this watch is becoming very appealing to me. I believe it's a sub with the high dome crystal and date with open 6s and 9s in the date wheel. Is that a model 5513? Also what's should I look for? I seen some posted for sale, but clearly my knowledge of them is limited, also what can I expect to pay for one these in good original condition?

Thanks,

Probably a 1680. A 5513 has no date.

Post pics of the specific watch if you can. If it is a 1680, it will depend if it is a Red Submariner or not, condition of the case, dial, hands, insert, if anything has been replaced, etc... Really, there are a lot of factors. A 1680 can go anywhere from 5k to 15k or more.

Thanks,
As Wesley says above. But at least 6k for anything worth buying.

I have been wearing both a GMT 16700 and an explorer 114270 for many years but I just picked up my first vintage this 1680 and I am really enjoying it. I love the super high plexi.

Yes it is if it has the date. I like the super dome plexi or is it glass? I've been looking in the for sale section. Can you post more pics?
Thanks

The 1680 crystal is often referred to as a top hat, not superdome. There is a difference, though I believe a superdome can be fitted onto a 1680. Both are acrylic crystals.

Got it. Thanks. I seen some for sale where they refer to it as a 'super dome'.

That is a 5513. The 5513 originally came with a superdome crystal.

You are interested in a Submariner Date, correct? That would be the 1680. The 1680 originally came with a top hat crystal.

This is a top hat. See the difference?

So a submariner date is a 1680 does it also have cyclops?
