Help needed: Verification on vintage Omega Ladymatic
Hi all, I came across a listing for a vintage Omega Ladymatic (Seamaster?). Seller is unable to open caseback, and can only show me pics of the dial and caseback. Condition on the exterior is pretty bad, but I guess can be rectified (at what cost?). That said, is this piece legitimate? I tried to google for more information, and at least based on the Omega archives on their website, found no such references to one with this bracelet, or markers. Any help, advice, or potential information about this watch's history would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers for the info @MILGAUSS88. I thought the bracelet might have been a mix&match job too, especially since most (if not all) Ladymatics I found in the archives came with leather straps.
There's work that needs to be done; case needs to be polished, and probably hesalite replacement. Any idea how much this will cost? I thought of bringing it back to Omega service center, but I asked for a quick quote and without first looking at the watch for an estimate, told me it might be about $500. A lot of money for this, I reckon. Haven't yet been able to find a reliable watchmaker locally who might be able to work on this for much cheaper. |

I am use to local, old timer doing watch repairs. If watch is running, cleaning and a crystal is $50 for me.
But I am sure an Omega service is probably $500. |

Here is Southeast Asia, reliable (i.e. ones that don't pirate your watch for parts!) are hard to come by. There is a reputable guy, but he's a 6 hour drive away, and I don't know if even just the journey is worth it. Btw, any idea what caliber this Ladymatic is running? Easily serviced by just about any watchmaker?
Cheers again for the help! |
