Incoming!
Hi folks,
I had the oppertunity to buy a vintage Omega 166.041 (1968/1969) for just under 200 euros from my watchmaking teacher who thought it would be a great learning project for me to work on. The case is slightly scratched, the movement needs service but is working and losing about 5min a day, it needs a new crown since this one is loose on the stem and isn't original. It had a weird non-original bracelet which I removed, I will get a nice dark brown leather strap for it with some new spingbars as well. The acrylic crystal was all scratched up but I buffed those out with 500 grain sandpaper, then with 1000 grain and then polished it with a tissue and copperpolish and now it looks pretty good. The watch is in reasonable shape and I can't wait to clean/fix it and strap it on. I will post better pictures when I have restored it. |

A new buffalo leather strap, the dark brown is really nice on this watch.
