Selling my Limited Edition 1359/3000 Leonardo da Vinci Collection fountain pen (standard Medium nib). Condition as original, all box & papers with my original sales receipt from the Boston Montblanc Boutique @ Copley Plaza.

This Limited Edition of 3000 fountain pens and 3000 rollerballs is honoring the greatest artist of the Italian Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci (1452 to 1519). Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian Renaissance polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer. His genius, perhaps more than that of any other figure, epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the Renaissance Man, a man of unquenchable curiosity with a feverishly inventive imagination. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived. His ingenious inventions became manifest in diverse manuscripts and served as an inspiration for this Limited Edition. Highlights of this spectacular writing instrument include: Cap and barrel are made of anodized aluminium; the fittings are platinum plated; the nib of this piston fill fountain pen is 18 kt gold, rhodium plated. Inspiration. The design for this collection is mainly inspired by the flight studies and inventions of Leonardo. A hidden mirror on the cap reflects the Montblanc emblem. The pen fittings were inspired by Leonardo*s studies on the wedge connection of two materials. The pen clip with its gear refers to the many wheels Leonardo used in his sketches. The cone refers to the transmission double movement. The 18 kt gold nib is engraved with a bat, which Leonardo studied to construct the flying machine and the forepart shows the wing he sketched for a flying device.
