I wouldn't touch it with a proverbial 10 ft pole.

Only if personally handling the watch and having its authenticity verified through a competent AD or high-end watchmaker.

Rolex
Here's what I sent him. Let's see where this goes ? I can't tell it is fake yet or not from the one blurry photo.
I am interested in the Rolex you have listed on Craigslist. Do you have more Pictures ? What is the serial number ? Would you take 3000 cash today ? Are you in Albany and could I pick it up today ? Thank you, Lenny |

The seller replied !
and here is the answer I just received from the seller. <grin>
I'm thinking on my answer right now. Hello, I have received your email regarding my Rolex watch. The watch is in perfect condition, with no scratches on it,no damage. The price for the watch is $3400 USD. The watch was my husband`s as he loved it very much, but he did not enjoy it as he died in a IRAQ 4 month ago. It brings very bad memories to me, I want to get rid of it. The buyer will receive the watch in original case. Also he money will be for a good cause because i will give them to a war victims foundation. Shipping will take no more then 4-5 days. I will manage the shipping price and I assumed that it is my duty to pay for shipping it.It will be delivered directly to your address.During this time you can also check the shipping route to find out where the item is located and how many time will pass until the transport will arrive Anyway, I have to let you know that I want a fast deal so if you are really interested in buying it, please reply with the following information's: -Your full name; -Full Address The transaction will close only through a purchase protection program so we both will be protected. I will look for your email,so that we can move forward with this deal! Let me know Jennifer |

Jennifer don't speak no good English. Of course "she" avoids answering ANY of your questions. Obviously a fake, don't know what answer you could be thinking about...it's a waste of your valuable time.

Ha!!!! I saw this also in St. Louis. The pictures were stolen from ebay as they had the camera watermark on the bottom right. I had the EXACT same email. I reported it to craigslist as a scammer and they removed it.

I'm about to reply to her just to string it along for awhile. I'd like to trace the IP address back but that's over my head. |

Email with a scammer
Hi Jennifer,
I am sorry for your loss of your husband. I would be happy to wear the watch of his with pride if you sell it to me. I am looking at another ROLEX for a little bit more but your story touches my heart. I would like to buy it I believe. Since you are advertising here in Albany, NY which I work here also, would you like to meet me and conclude this deal ? I can meet you at one of the local police stations if you are worried. And of course I can pay cash. I must stop by my bank to get the money on the way. Do you remember what year the watch was made ? Was it new when you and your husband got it ? Thank you, Lenny Quote:
