Buying Rolex?

So I wanted to introduce myself and also throw a question out there for opinions.
I am pondering a purchase of a Rolex. I really like the finer things in life and that does include Rolex. I purchased one for my wife some years ago, and own a nice Tag myself. I am self employed in construction which limits my time to wear a nice watch. I presently only wear my Tag on vacations, special occasions,etc.

I am on the fence to buy new or used. My aprihension to buying used is the unknown; watch history and the amount of knockoffs on the market. We are soon going to Turks and can save a substantial amount buying there. I bought my wife's in Bermuda and saved big.

Am I crazy to buy such am expensive piece that will not be worn much? Is there any investment to appreciate in the purchase of new or used?
