Engraving
I just got a submariner for graduating from law school. I want to get something engraved on the back. I have a few questions about it. 1. Will it void my warranty? 2. I'm getting an object engraved on the back which means it will be custom even though it is pretty simple. Where is the best place to get it engraved? I checke the rolex dealer at the mall but they only do letters. Any suggestions on where to get it engraved or any othe advice? I live in Jacksonville.
Thanks for your help. |

Find a bigger AD..
Rolex RSC does engravings and there should be a catalogue of all the designs and letter fonts they will do.. If you choose to have it done locally, take the caseback off and only give them that piece....

Personally, I wouldn't touch it. A friend of mine engraved his Sub and it just seems to take away from the cleanliness of the watch. Just make sure you really want to do it.

My advice.....find a hand engraver, rather than a machine to do the job.
Try Underwood's....they are a fine name in the area. Some find engraving on a watch lowers its re-sale value; yours sounds like a keeper. |

It's a graduation gift, I doubt you'll ever get rid of it. Good luck.

Actually......I agree!!! If you HAVE to get it done.....a decent watch shop / jewelry shop can take the back off and engrave what ever you want. The only issue after that is the waterproofness ( is that a word>>???)

Why don't you have your initials carefully engraved on to the clasp of the bracelet? After all, some people can engrave names on grains of rice!
Well done on qualifying. |
