I've been wearing my new SD on and off for a total of 5 days for the past two weeks of ownership.

I'm doing 15 spin of manual wind in the morning and about 15 more at night before bed time.

I's been 5 days in a row like this right now. I've noticed that it is usually about 2 minutes late on the midnight,but tonight it took him 3 minutes and a little "help shake" to make it click on the new day.

Do you think 2 minutes late is a tolerable time??

Is my watch still on a sort of break in period ??

Late august will be the time when it will live on my wrist forever.....

It's fine as long as you're within 5 minutes or so and the date does a quick change.

a little past midnight for the date change is fine
Do NOT Be "a shaking it" to change the date.
It will manage that task without your adamant support!!

wear it as a daily watch, take it off before bed, you will never need to hand wind it

Nice choice and one of my favourites.

Andrew, you have a serious problem.
Get to bed by 10.30pm and you can solve it.

The only other fix is to have it taken apart and the hands reset.
This is not something I would advise for a Rolex that isn't 'broken' because this is usually followed by a post along the lines of 'My AD:- scratched, dropped, scuffed, smudged, stuffed, broke, lost or made the problem worse'.

ps. Don't bother with the winding if you wear it daily or if you even skip the odd day.

My GMT II 16710 changes at around 2 minutes after mid......so...yours is just fine!

Mine run anywhere from 11:59 to 12:05....well, unless I screw it up and it changes at noon.

My watch was changing date around two minutes past midnight. After three weeks of use, it changes date 30 seconds past midnight. You should wait to see what happen in around a month.

That’s funny. I noticed this on my new sd43 too. I have had it for a few months and finally was paying attention at midnight and watched it on the minute. A couple minutes went by and I stopped watching. Then by 5 after it had switched. My 16600 would flip within a few seconds of midnight.

It depends how carefully the hands are set during manufacture is all. As to why people dig up decade-old threads, I have no idea

Have to agree about digging up old threads but why worry when the date has changed as long as it has changed by next morning.Now if it has thats proof you are still alive and can see its changed thats far more important.
