PreOwn Daytona OR New DEEP Sea

With the long awaited release of the new Stunning DEEPSEA Sea Dweller, there comes a new issue.
What i've been told is that UK prices put it in the same price bracket as buying a pre-own stainless steel Daytona.

Well, do you want to own one of the most sought after watches on the planet or buy the current 'talk of the town', a DeepSea. Thats the question?

hmmm thats a difficult one... there are a few factors to consider..

1) do you like big watches more..? then Deep Sea would be better choice.
2) Can you wait at least 6 months for the DeepSea as it might take that long to get your hands on one.
3) Do you want more heads to turn? then Daytona - more people will know about the daytona (and recognize it than the DeepSea).
4) Whats more important - Chronograph or Date?

I guess based on these factors you should make your choice...

Considering you've got two my learned Rolexer (learnmore60), would you trade in your beauties for a DEEPSEA?

Dont really have an option, my girlfriend has pretty much stolen my white face SS!

However I have put my name on the Deep Sea, as I do intend to purchase it.. and if I dont love it then I will just flip it. (but unlikely) as I do like big watches and this will be one of the largest Rolex watches ever made.

If I was pushed though.. and I could get my hands on the first few DSSD then i think I might trade my daytona (but not my vintage daytona!), as I think daytona's are becoming much more available and prices in grey market are coming down quite a lot... but the new Deep Sea will be the hottest watch to get possibly for the next year at least!

You seem to have been given some duff info
The price of a new DSSD in the UK is almost identical to the price of a NEW s/s Daytona... in fact it's £100 less at £4750

No brainer for me when you compare all the 'extras' you're getting.

DeepSea all the way!

If this is true, then I need to ridicule my source. One can still get a pre-own daytona for around 5,500, which IMO still puts it in the same price bracket.

I would say the Daytona as it is by far the most comfortable watch in my collection, I just don't think the DSSD can compete with that. But the best way to tell, is to try each on, which is going to a tough thing to do for a while!

Since you already have a GMT IIc, it might make more sense to get something that looks totally different and that should be the Daytona!

It HAS to be the DSSD..........................

Daytonas scratch so easily that everyone leaves the plastic on.........

Daytona first and then wait for DSSD to become more available and if you still want it then get it at a better price then.

Hockey puck...I like that.

Would do same too...

Would the DSSD pass thru airport security? it's lot of metal

Unless complicated watches are your thing, this is a no brainer. The hype over the Daytona, would be the the same if not more for the DSSD if only people could get their hands on them.
