Zero love for my Blusey

I have had this Rolex for probably 10 years now and it was the only Rolex I had owned for the longest time. At one time, I loved it and it has been my daily watch and the only watch I ever wore. In the last six months or so, I have now bought, the Hulk, The D-blue, and just recently the SD4000 and love them all.
I think maybe my tastes have changed and I really like the Stainless steel way better than the TT.
Maybe its the fact that it is not the latest and greatest anymore, being outdated and without the new clasps, the solid links, the ceramic bezel, and other improvements.
Anybody else have this experience happen to them.
Oh, and today I put on Bluesy for probably first time in over a month.

Well, it's "new" over the old effect. My first luxury watch was a Omega Speedmaster, purchased almost 20 years ago. It definitely doesn't get as much wear as it use to but I would never get rid of it. It's special to me b/c it was my first nice watch I could afford. I think your Blusey TT would always have some sentimental value even if it's not worn as much as before. When I do break out the Speedmaster, I still get a lot of compliments and people are shocked it's almost 20 years old. Wear them all in good health!

Well maybe it is time for a new all gold. If TT isn't doing it for you and you have SS go all gold.

I think the Bluesy requires a very specific taste. The look of the stainless, paired with the gold and blue is definitely not for some. It's quite possible that your taste is evolving. Give it a few months (or a few years) until the honeymoon period with your new pieces is over. I'd keep it purely on the sentimental value, until you really can't stand it.

You have a great collecton and if the Blusey is not getting the wrist time maybe you should let it go. Just make sure it's not just the honeymoon period with your new toys. You did have it for 10 years so there was something about it that you were attracted to.

I think it's a beautiful watch and adds to your collection. Maybe you could trade up to the 116613LB.

I'm with you 100%. I had my Bluesy for 18 years and rarely ever wore it the last 10 years. Tastes change. I felt it was just too flashy for me anymore. I flipped it for a new BLNR and never looked back.

You've moved on from it and onto greener pastures that make you happy and you musn't feel guilty about it. That being said, I'm really looking forward to my midlife crisis.

Great comments guys, and thank you. For years and years I have always considered this watch, the most recognized Rolex in the world. You can tell a blue TT from across a room and it always stood out in the crowd. I actually think my watch is more like 15 or more years old, I might have to dig up the box and try and figure that out.
As for the comment to get an all gold, if I were, the Smurf would be my choice as the yellow gold is too flashy for my taste.
I will always keep this as it does have sentimental value and needs to stay with me.
Truth be told, if I didn't hang around this forum since January of this year, it would probably still be my only Rolex. YOU GUYS ARE GOOD SALESMAN

I have had my bluesy for 13 years and it doesn't get the wrist time it use to but being my first Rolex I will never get rid of it. I have a lot of gold jewelry and rarely wear it but when I do the bluesy is the perfect watch to wear.

Maybe consider putting it on an Everest or RubberB? The dial and the bezel of the bluesy is fabulous, but the two-tone bracelet is really too much for some. A rubber strap would subdue it quite a bit, but would still look great.

i had the same feelings bud going from my 16610 to my 116610LV.

I moved mine along and in retrospect I miss that watch, but only for sentimental reasons. I am blown away by the progress and improvements of the modern submariners (that's including the DSSD and SD4000).

If youre in no rush my humble advice would be to hang on to your TT for at least another few months before making any moves. you may have some honeymoon fever considering your relatively high incoming rate of recent months.

Hi Chad, Hows the Patina coming along on the Bronze beauty. And you are right, been a lot of incoming in a very short time for me. I was looking at the rubber straps that someone above mentioned, and I am intrigued by that option.
Be well.

I'd rather have your watch than the new alternative. At least the bezel and dial match.

Unless it holds great sentimental value, I advocate flipping watches that aren't worn.

Have you considered the 116613? Perhaps an update will bring back the love.
