Need some help identifing my old Rolex

Hi, everone, this is my first post. I purchased this watch while attending an antique furniture auction in 1972. Over the years it's spent most of the time in a jewelery box. Last month I dropped it off at my favorite Rolex shop to have it serviced. I asked that they record the numbers from inside the case for future reference. The last digit of one number was obscured: "6085?". The serial number is "793019". The repair person said that it was manufactured in or around 1951. Can anyone tell me anything about this watch? Does it have a model name? I love the way it looks (it has it's original face and hands), and I'm going to wear it on a regular basis. Thank you in advance.

hi and welcome to TRF- -that serial number is from 1951 so that is correct.

the model number 6085 would be an -oyster perpetual -model with the A260 movement. is that an enamel dial ( also called a Charles Poluzzi enamel dial) rather than just an ordinary dial? as these were also made and were the model reference number 6085.

that is about all i can tell you.

lovely watch

Christopher,
Thanks for the feedback. Not knowing who Charles Poluzzi is, I researched him on the internet and discovered what a talented and unique artisit he was. I inquired with my Rolex jeweler and he said that my watch face is not, unfortunately, enamel.

Best,
