Show Patina on your GMT Master 16700 or 16710 Tritium Dials
I am very curious to see how is patina forming in 16700 or 16710 tritium dials. 16750 and 16760 welcome.

Nice patina on that Fat Lady
So i guess a 16710 with tritium shall develop similar patina on time right? |

Every watch will age different. That said, any watch with its original tritium lume will get a nice creamy color to it over time. I've seen some that were safe queens that turned a nice pumpkin orange.

Yes i should rephrase tritium on early 16710 dials is similar to 16750/17660 so it will develop patina over time. I am curious to see if there are 16710s with patina like your watches' guys.

Well the 16710 came out a decade after the 16750 and 16760 ended so they wont be as aged... but I would expect the early trit dials would age just as well. I have seen a handful of online listings that show early 16710's with creamy markers.

Close estimation, but the 16710 came out during late 1980s after 16760 production wrapped up.

Oops. I misread the dates on my reference material. 16760 ended in 88 and 16710 started in 89.... or so. I believe the 16710 and the 16700 were sold together until about 99.
Good catch Springer.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a Fat Lady
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-GMT-MA...YAAOSw2gxYyEme Any opinions gladly accepted. This will be my first GMT. The dial is blotchy, and the GMT hand is missing it's Lume. It looks to be a decent example otherwise., Would love to hear from you. I know this is a little off topic, but I promise to add pics here of her if I buy it. Many Thanks Chris |

The buyer of this $6,250 watch is going to have to take it to a watchmaker straight away and try and get the GMT hand sorted This is where Jacek at HQ Milton is so good. If he needs to he'll get his stock serviced, polished and if they exhibit some service parts, so be it. At least you know there's nothing more to spend. |

I've found that in the world of tritium dials the majority of collectors frown upon a mismatched hand set with a mix of tritium lume and luminova.

Yes, I don't mind the missing Trit. It shows originality. Heck maybe a Trit hand will come along at some point, or maybe Jacek has one up in SF. There's just something about this Fat Lady that calls...Is she Singing
