Received the call from my AD and a GMTIIC question
My AD called me today and told me that my TT GMTIIC had arrived today. So I put my Sea Dweller on and rushed to the AD.
While sitting there discussing the watch we couldn't help discussing the price. Since I had bought my SD there (he didn't even want to see the receipt, he trusted my word  ) he accepted to giving me 15% off MSRP!! He also gave me a ROLEX cap and a ROLEX ball point pen and a caran d'ache pen.So now I'm a happy owner of a TT GMTIIC!!  Now to the question about the GMT. The bezel doesn't click like the SD when being turned but more of a thumpclick-like noise, is it supposed to be like this? Thanks for reading and sharing my moment of joy :) |

Firtsly congratulations- great watch at a great price
and Yes the bezel is a timezone feature so only has 24 clicks and the sound is different to the SUB and SD

Plus the GMT2C bezel uses a different mechanism than the Sub/SD, implementing ball bearings.

Toph is correct. The bezel feels completely different due to it having only 24 clicks. Enjoy the new timepiece!

The new DSSD uses a new mechanism as well.
The clicks feel much smoother. In some ways I think it turns a little too easily for a dive watch but only time and use will tell and besides I never count on a watch when diving (yes I still wear one when diving)

Welcome and congrats on getting my favorite Rolex! There is no problem with your bezel, the idea behind it is 24 clicks. It's less precise for timing functionality, but the idea behind it is that it's easier to keep track of times in multiple time zones. 3 hours ahead = 3 clicks of the bezel.

The watch feels great! The solid centerlinks feel add weight to the watch and the entire watch feels more balanced on the wrist than the SD does. Both watches are stunning timepieces and watches I will never sell. They look great together.
I haven't worn it in front of my girlfriend yet, she doesn't like gold on watches but she will get used to it eventually. The SD and Omega Speedy Pro still get the most wrist time. Now I just have to find out how photobucket works so i can upload som photos of the beauties =) |
