I miss my Sub

A week ago from today, I sent 16610 to RSC Dallas to get it regulated and have a few scratches removed.

I can't believe I'm saying this about a watch, but I really miss it. I even run to the phone every time it rings in hopes that it's my AD calling to tell me that my Submariner is back.

It gives me a reason to start saving for a second one. I don't think I could survive waiting for Rolex to service my watch when the next service comes up.

Can't say I blame you, Matthew.

I began to miss my Sub after 2 weeks of Platty on my wrist.

Now Subby's back and he's a happy chappy!!

My new Sub was sent in for regulation last month. It was away from me for three and a half weeks, but I have to say that it was well worth the wait. My ND has now lost only 2 seconds in the last three weeks. That's pretty darn phenomenal. Hang in there.

My DJ has been gone for a full service for a month now. I'm actually enjoying wearing my first Rolex, the Oyster Perpetual no date that I purchased in 1971. I don't think it has been serviced for 30 years. It has gained a total of 50 seconds in the past month! I would definitely be unhappy if I didn't have this backup to wear.

I've always said RSC should have visiting hours like a hospital

It'll be well worth the wait & will look like brand new

You will have it back on your wrist before you know it!

It's definitely a luxury to have a second one to wear while your other gets serviced!

I sent my 16610 in a few months ago to the Dallas RSC and they did a fantastic job. Mine is only 2 years old but started gaining quite a bit so I went ahead with a full service. It's worth the wait, I assure you!

I feel your pain. I feel absolutely naked without my watch. Several years ago, I had my Sub sent in for serious repair, but I was fortunate that a good friend of mine "leased" me his, as he had two at the time. Great friend and sympathetic to boot.

Totally agree,
I rotate my watches and a good part of the reason is that I can't get away from anyone of them for too long.

Huh? I don't remember saying I've had it for more than a month.

It was gaining 5 seconds a day. I know that's good for a mechanical watch, however that's the one (and only) thing that bugs me to no end about a watch.

There weren't too many scratches, but I thought I might as well have them removed if I'm already sending it in.

Nothing.

I went in, told the sales lady that it was gaining 5 seconds a day, and she called the watch technician. He told her he can't do anything about it and she told me that. She told me that I'd have to send it to Rolex. The lady then told me they could overnight the watch to RSC Dallas and I gave them the watch. They gave me a receipt and I left.

So...all I saved was ~$20 for the shipping.
