This Seller n "Explorer" watch set off the sirens...!

Err buddies...this sort of watch listing in Orchi's own opinion...would be seen as an insult to Rolex brand in introducing the Explorer model watches...to honour Sir Edmund Hilary n Tenzing Norgay...being widely known as the 1st men to conquer Mount. Everest...the world's tallest mountain...

"JUST IN FROM A LOCAL RESIDENT. IT BELONGED TO HIS FATHER. This is an authentic ROLEX STAINLESS STEEL WRIST WATCH. The serial number indicates that it was made in 1949. The original untouched dial reads "ROLEX OYSTER PRECISION" and "EXPLORER SELF WINDING" below. Nice original condition. The dial has not been resurfaced. Runs but needs a cleaning and service after decades of being put away. The crystal has a few little scratches, no gouges. Needs a new band and pin for the band. This watch has the original Mercedes style hands. A GREAT WATCH for a very low opening bid.

ON THE CASE AT THE 12 O'CLOCK POSITION IT READS " 1002 REGISTERED DESIGN". SERIAL # AT 6 O'CLOCK POSITION "665294 STAINLESS STEEL"

THE WATCH IN THE PHOTOS IS THE WATCH YOU WILL ACTUALLY RECEIVE.

NO RESERVE!!!

Please send payment to: Rich Gannon 16521 S. Tamiami Tr. Ft. Myers, Fl 33908 "

1. Rolex 1st introduced the Explorer watch models back since from 1952 or so...with Ref 6098 n 6150...
2. Rolex Explorer has always had automatic self winding movement...beginning with their legendary Cal.A296 movement...
3. Rolex NEVER made an Explorer with Manual winding movement...
4. Ref 1002 Case is Oyster Perpetual Model
5. 1005 backcase Ref# normally associated with Gold filled Oyster case(upper porsion only).
6. The Hands are FAKE...!
7. The Dial is FAKE...!

The ebay Seller - a2z even has over 2600 FB history with 100% Track Record...

This sort of Seller...would even cause the genius inventor the Late Hans Wilsdorf...rise up from his grave...to protest...!!!

The movement seems to match the Oysterdate Precision from an older vintage. I found one here 5th picture down on the page though, the movement from the link I provided, is in far better shape than the one that he is showing. That dial looks horrible.

There is also a 1951 Rolex Explorer displayed with the self-winding movement.
