Just got my second Rolex

About 2 weeks ago, and after years of saving, I got my first Rolex, a T serial Submariner. Fantastic watch, I'd always been a fan of the lug hole, tritium combo and I couldn't have found a better example...but I soon started to regret not getting my first choice, the Seadweller. So the hunt began and the result, an F serial 16600...I love it! I know I cannot keep both right now so the sub will have to go soon...here are some pics of my beauties before it does.

16610

16600

I know what you mean when you want to own the one model you have focused on for years. Now you have two Rolexes--congratulations.

Just noticed the tiny lint all over the bezel & crystal...no matter how much I wipe and use the dust blower, it's impossible to win...lol

Too bad you have to let one go. They're both beautiful watches.

Well I'd love to keep them both, it's just trying to convince my wife. One of them is paid for, the other one's not...that's the problem. I'm trying to explain that it's like a savings account...at the end of two years, we'll be glad we kept both...we'll see how it goes though. If one has to go though, it will be the 16610...I just love this SD!

Keep 'em both - you'll regret selling either one.

I know that you love that SD...

However, your 16610 is one of the last of the tritium dials....These babies will be going up in value as fewer are to be found in good condition...

From a collector perspective...that's a keeper....(not that the discontinued SD isn't, but you know.....)

Two very nice examples of two classic watches, nice pics. also. Their is nothing wrong with owning one Rolex for life, I actually think it is more practical. I personally own a sub and a GMT but I really respect people who are content with owning just one, it is a very admirable trait. Pick the one you love the most and enjoy it for the rest of your life, that is what I will probably do soon.

Just went out and had a beer with the Mrs. I think she's warming up to the idea of keeping both...although she doesn't exactly know it yet.

The interesting thing is, and I'm sure many here can comment, that although at first glance they look very similar, the 16610 & 16600 wear totally different. Thoughts?

Man, two beautiful examples. I'd be hard pressed to move the 16610.

Aw heck, I'd be hard pressed to move the SD.

As for the lint, try a little canned air before you take the pic.

Put both watches on a scale, then keep the one with greater weight.
